Selam held a meeting with CfCA- Connect for Culture Africa national working group on November 11, 2024. On the meeting, Dr. Yisma Tsige lead researcher of ‘’Baseline Study and Actor Mapping for Public Investment in Ethiopia’s Culture Sector” stressed the importance of applying data-driven justifications when requesting budget allocations for the cultural sector. In addition, the founder of Selam Mr.Teshome Wondimu stated decision makers around budgeting need to be made aware of the issues found in the sector. The meeting also acknowledged and appreciated government initiatives such as the Abrehot Library, Andinet Park, and the Science Museum.
The discussion concluded with Selam’s future plans, including capacity building and awareness initiatives through e-learning, podcasts, and policy dialogues.
