In celebration of Africa Day 2025, Selam Ethiopia, through its Connect for Culture Africa (CfCA) initiative, hosted a dynamic and inclusive cultural event in partnership with the Ethiopian Music Sectoral Associations Union, the Ethiopian Writers Association, the Ethiopian Visual Artists Association, and the Ethiopian National Circus Association Consortium. The celebration was made possible with the generous support of the Addis Ababa Culture, Arts, and Tourism Bureau.
Held at Arat Kilo Plaza, the event embraced the African Union’s 2025 theme: “Year of Reparations: Justice for Africans & People of African Descent through Reparations.” The celebration honored the resilience, unity, and cultural richness of Africa and its people.
The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Dr. Hirut Kassaw, Head of the Addis Ababa Culture, Arts, and Tourism Bureau, alongside representatives from the partner associations and Selam Ethiopia.
Audiences enjoyed a vibrant showcase of literature, circus performances, live music, and visual arts, reflecting the diversity and creative power of African cultures. The celebration served as a powerful reminder of the role of the arts in storytelling, healing, resistance, and identity-building across the continent.
Through initiatives like CfCA, Selam Ethiopia continues to promote cultural expression, collaboration, and policy advocacy for the creative sector across Ethiopia and the wider African region.
