During the International Women’s Day, on the 8th of March, Selam, in collaboration with several circus clubs, organized a vast number of events, showcasing an all-female line-up of 192 artists. Using circus, poems, literature and music they reached an audience of more than five thousand people in total! The events took place in the capital Addis Ababa and five other regional cities: Adama, Hawassa, Arbaminch, Dire Dawa and Bahirdar.
The movement aims to emphasize gender equality and Women’s empowerment under the parole Tomorrow’s hope cannot be brightened without strong women’s participation.
